#Smartists: This exhibition provides a special platform for teachers and learners to interact with artworks by some of the artists included in the list of FET Visual Arts Curriculum themes. The exhibition will include walkabouts which will provide in-depth discussions on international, continental and national issues relevant to the artworks selected from the Unisa Permanent Art Collection. The exhibition showcases some rare artworks from various artists such as JH Pierneef, Gerard Sekoto and Maggie Loubser, as well as the debut displays of recently acquired contemporary artworks from artists like William Kentridge, Diane Victor, Ntlantla Nsunsha, Wayne Baker and Penny Siopis to mention a few. The exhibition provides a vibrant overview from the South African art history periods to contemporary art today. It aims to empower and develop smart critical thinkers through visual interactions and experience.
